Need fifteen videos from different channels, not one existing playlist? The trick that makes batch downloading painless is simple: turn your selection into a playlist first, then feed that single link to a playlist downloader. You do the choosing inside YouTube, where search and recommendations live, and the downloading happens in one place.
The playlist-as-basket method
- 1. Create a playlist. In YouTube, on any video you want, press Save → New playlist. Name it anything ("Batch", say) and set it to unlisted.
- 2. Fill the basket. Keep browsing and press Save on every video you want. They queue up in your new playlist, from any channel.
- 3. Copy the playlist link. Open the playlist, press Share and copy the URL with
list=in it. - 4. Paste it in the downloader. Our multi downloader lists every video you saved; press Download on each and pick MP4 or MP3.
When you are done, you can empty or delete the playlist in YouTube — the files are already yours.
Why not paste links one by one?
You can — our single video downloader does exactly that, and for one or two videos it is the fastest route. But past three or four links, tab-juggling gets error-prone: you lose track of which ones are done, and every video means another copy-paste round trip. One playlist link replaces all of it, keeps the order, and lets you resume tomorrow where you stopped today.
Keeping a batch under control
- Name files as you go. Browsers keep the video title as filename; prefix numbers later if order matters (01, 02…).
- Mixed formats are fine. Nothing forces one format for the whole batch — take the lecture as MP3 and the demo as MP4.
- Mind the fair-use limit. The service caps very heavy use per visitor to stay fast for everyone; a typical batch is nowhere near it.
- Big course? Read the guide to archiving courses offline for storage planning and file organisation.
The same rules about content apply
Batch downloading does not change what you may download: your own uploads, videos whose creators allow saving, and permissively-licensed content — for personal use. Details on the copyright information page.
