How to convert a YouTube video to MP3
- Copy the link. On YouTube, open the video and copy the address bar, or tap Share → Copy link in the app. Links look like
youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXXoryoutu.be/XXXXXXXXXXX. - Paste it above and press “Get Download Links”. We read the video details from YouTube and show a preview so you can confirm it is the right video before converting.
- Press “Download MP3”. Our download partner opens in a new tab with the video already loaded. Choose the bitrate you want and save the file. On iPhone it goes to Files → Downloads; on Android to the Download folder.
Which bitrate should you choose?
- 128 kbps – about 1 MB per minute. Perfectly fine for speech: podcasts, interviews, lectures and audiobooks.
- 192 kbps – about 1.4 MB per minute. A good balance between size and quality for music you listen to on the go.
- 320 kbps – about 2.4 MB per minute. The highest MP3 quality. Keep in mind that YouTube itself streams audio at roughly 128–160 kbps, so 320 kbps will not sound better than the original; it simply avoids losing anything more.
If you are not sure, choose 192 kbps for music and 128 kbps for anything spoken.

Limits you should know
- Private, deleted and age-restricted videos cannot be converted.
- Live streams can only be converted after they have finished and been published as a normal video.
- The MP3 is prepared by a partner site. If it is slow at peak times, wait a minute and try again.

No. Everything runs in your browser on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. Safari saves the MP3 to the Files app, from where you can play it or add it to other apps.
Is there a length limit?
No fixed limit. Very long videos (several hours) just take longer to prepare and produce larger files: a two-hour podcast at 128 kbps is roughly 115 MB.
Will the MP3 keep the title and artist?
The file is named after the video title. Cover art and ID3 tags depend on the partner site; you can always edit them later in your music player.
Is it legal to convert YouTube to MP3?
