Paste the link of any YouTube Short in the box above and you will get a preview with the title, channel and length, plus two buttons: MP4 keeps the video in its original vertical format (up to 1080p) and MP3 extracts the audio only. There is nothing to install and no account to create, and it works on phones, tablets and computers.
How to download a YouTube Short
- Copy the link. In the YouTube app, open the Short, tap Share and then Copy link. In a browser, copy the address bar. The link looks like
youtube.com/shorts/XXXXXXXXXXX. - Paste it above and press “Get Download Links”. We read the video details from YouTube and show you a preview so you can confirm it is the right Short.
- Choose MP4 or MP3. The button opens our download partner in a new tab with the video already loaded. Pick the quality you want and save the file. On iPhone it goes to Files → Downloads; on Android to the Download folder.
MP4 or MP3: which one should you pick?
- MP4 is the whole video, vertical 9:16, at the same resolution as the original upload (most Shorts are 1080×1920). Choose it to watch offline or to share the clip. A 60-second Short in 1080p is usually 10–25 MB.
- MP3 is the audio only. It is the right choice for sounds, music snippets and voice-overs, and a 60-second Short is normally under 1 MB.
Which links work
youtube.com/shorts/ID– the normal Shorts link from the app or the browser.youtu.be/ID– the short link YouTube creates when you share from the app.youtube.com/watch?v=ID– the same video opened in the regular player.- Regular, horizontal videos also work here, but for long videos you will be more comfortable on our YouTube to MP4 or YouTube to MP3 pages.
- Playlists: use the playlist downloader on our home page, which lists every video with its own download button.
Limits you should know
- Private, deleted and age-restricted Shorts cannot be downloaded.
- Live streams can only be downloaded after they have finished and been published as a normal video.
- Shorts can now be up to 3 minutes long; longer Shorts are supported just the same.
- The file itself is prepared by a partner site. If it is slow at peak times, wait a minute and try again.
