How to download a YouTube video as MP4
- Copy the link. On YouTube, open the video and copy the address bar, or tap Share → Copy link in the app. Links look like
youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXXoryoutu.be/XXXXXXXXXXX. - Paste it above and press “Get Download Links”. We read the video details from YouTube and show a preview so you can confirm it is the right video.
- Press “Download MP4”. Our download partner opens in a new tab with the video already loaded. Choose the resolution you want and save the file. On iPhone it goes to Files → Downloads (you can then save it to Photos); on Android to the Download folder.
Which resolution should you choose?
- 360p – roughly 3–5 MB per minute. Small files that are fine on a phone screen or when storage is tight.
- 720p (HD) – roughly 10–15 MB per minute. Sharp on phones and laptops; the best all-round choice.
- 1080p (Full HD) – roughly 20–30 MB per minute. For TVs, big monitors and anything you plan to edit. Only available when the original video was uploaded in 1080p or higher.
Every MP4 uses the H.264 codec with AAC audio, so it plays on any phone, computer, TV or media player without extra software.
What you can download

Limits you should know
- Private, deleted and age-restricted videos cannot be downloaded.
- Live streams can only be downloaded after they have finished and been published as a normal video.
- The MP4 is prepared by a partner site. Long videos in 1080p take a while; if it is slow at peak times, wait a minute and try again.
